FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- At what point in the life of our project should CCC get involved?
- An early involvement in the life of your project on a part-time basis is recommended. Many churches are finding that advice and guidance in the initial stages of a project are of great benefit, yet CCC can step in at any point along the way that your church deems most appropriate. The detailed design and pre-construction period is especially significant.
- How far are you willing to travel?
- Jeff has traveled extensively within the Mid-Atlantic states throughout his engineering career, and is very willing to do so. A 300-mile radius from Carlisle, PA is considered reasonable for bi-weekly vehicle travel which includes PA, DE, MD, NJ, NY, OH, VA and WV. Air travel to other states is also quite possible.
- We already have an architect on board to design and manage our project - why would we need to add CCC to our team?
- The ministry of CCC is not intended to replace or diminish the architect's role in any way. Conversely, Jeff believes adding CCC to your team will assist both the design team and the church to streamline communications, better understand each others perspectives, and promote exceptional stewardship with economic designs that will achieve every churches goal of building God's kingdom while effectively managing a defined budget.
- We see that you are currently employed by an engineering firm and assisting other churches - will you really have enough time to help our church as well?
- Most definitely. Jeff's schedule with his current employer allows for total flexibility to simultaneously be in ministry. God has blessed him with organizational skills and a wealth of experience managing a vast array of projects, plus his own engineering firm, for many years.
- Are you willing to provide this ministry to churches of any denomination as well as independent churches?
- Absolutely. Our goal is to assist churches spreading the Good News of the redemptive power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
- Does CCC work only with churches?
- CCC works primarily with churches, but is very willing to help any faith-based organization as well. Examples would be The Salvation Army; The United Methodist Childrens Home; church-sponsored retirement communities; church-sponsored schools, colleges and universities.
- Will we work with Jeff or another of CCC's staff?
- CCC is a ministry founded and implemented solely by Jeff, so you will work directly with him on your project.
- We've decided to go the design-build route, and have already engaged a contractor for our project. Since all services will be "under one roof" with design-build, we don't need any help from CCC, do we?
- Design-build is an increasingly popular approach to church construction. While it reduces the number of entities involved in your project, it also reduces the checks and balances that come with a traditional design-bid-build process. In Jeff's opinion, the value of CCC's involvement as an advocate for your church with a design-build project becomes even more significant.
"Jeff Barnes was a wonderful blessing to the building project at Wesley United Methodist Church in Marysville PA. With his knowledge of construction and his compassion for Christ, he became one of us. He helped us to get our project back within budget, saving us money while keeping the project moving forward. The members of the Building Team, as well as our contractor, have deep gratitude and respect for Jeff's expertise, counsel, and friendship."
